Teacher's Day Celebration

Yes, it was this time of the year again where teachers are being recognised for their contributions, be it outstanding or small, to the development of the younger generation. Well, I'm referring to Teacher's Day of course.

The celebrations at NYJC were kind of monotonous to be honest mainly because of the activities that were installed for us. First and foremost was the ACES day workout which proved to be a disaster not because of the organising committee, but because of the lack of enthusiasm among the classes. Some classes were just stoning behind the parade square, their members refusing to participate in any of the activities. So that's the NY spirit? Despite that, at least the performance by the teachers was better. Two teachers played the guitar while one played the piano, accompanied by singers in various songs, both chinese and english.

After which when the formal part of the celebration was over, my class feased on some of the snacks which we brought. Later, I gave Ms Tang, Ms Teng, Mrs Chua and Mrs Tan teacher's day cards. This was in fact the 1st time I had given more than 2 cards to my teachers. The last time I had only given a card to Mr Tang (sec sch chemistry teacher). It was ironic. I thought that I should do something different this year hence the cards.

Went back to HS after my brief spell at NY. Celebrations were ongoing when I arrived in the school hall. Was quite surprised to find that many of the alumni members were already there. Met up with a lot of my friends and some of my juniors. Was also lucky to have bumped into many of my teachers; mainly Mr Roger Lee, Miss Chang, Miss Wong, Mr Tang, Mdm Ching, Miss Liew, Mrs Goh, Mrs Koh and Mrs Lee. I even spoke with Mr Lee about some band issues and the recent happenings associated with the band. Haha, now I'm kind of updated about the recent ongoings. Looks like quite a number of things have happened since I last came back in the beginning of June. Wow, time flies, isn't it?

Played basketball with my friends, the usual 4E1 people, for quite some time before chit chatting with the principal and other teachers in the HOD room. Before I knew it, it was almost 4pm. Went home after that.

Must say it was a good experience to have gone back to HS and to meet up with most of my teachers who have been instrumental in helping me through thick and thin. It was a joy to see them and they must have felt the same.. Glad to have also seen most of my 4E1 friends as well, wish u guys well!
