After Promos....
Must say that I didn't meet my own expectations for Promo Exams. Was kind of unsatisfied to be honest. Sometimes, I really wonder what it'll take for me to do well. When you thought you had done really well, it turns out that you did extremely badly. How do you explain that? Haha.. I don't know...Luckily, its not the end yet. The focus and final target should be the 'A' levels and nothing else. So come next year, I do hope that my grades would improve by leaps and bounds. Only then will I have a realistic chance in applying for a local University..Well, at least I'm glad we've finished our written report for PW. That's 3 down and 1 to go. Oral presentation I mean. Its make or break for OP. Better grab this chance to shine or else.... it might just be over... 10% of 'A' levels might not seem much, but hey, every mark counts. It could mean the difference between an A and a B.. So don't underestimate the power of 10%! Haha.....Really hope to go back to HS one of these days. Just can't find the time to do so mainly because of PW. Heard that the new conductor's really strict with them. Its good for them I feel. Only then will they improve faster and achieve greater goals. Of course, if they can achieve a GOLD in the next SYF, I'll be really delighted.. Its possible though, so continue to strive for excellence HSSB!
Its over! But not just yet....
A sigh of relief! Haha, finally the promo exams are over! After a few weeks of constant mugging, its finally come to an end. Haha, but only just yet. Up next, is the notorious PW. When you think you can get a break, something else is next on the list. Kind of frustrating at times, but well that's life I guess....
Right, maybe its time to sum up what I really thought about the promo exams. Ok, let's start with GP and Maths first. I thought GP was quite alright except for the compo; the questions look easy at first, but if you seriously think about it, you'll find that its not the case. Haha, up to your own interpretation... Maths on the other hand was quite ok except for a couple of trick questions. Got to really be able to see the trick behind the question....
I'll not going to discuss about CLAO partly because I have no comments.. Haha... Let's see...... Ah, Physical Geo wasn't really difficult, but it was the lack of time that caused me to leave out 8 marks. Or is it because my handwriting is too slow? Haha.... Anywayz, Physics paper 3 on Tuesday was kind of difficult. I left out about 6 marks if i'm not mistaken... Haiz, what to do? Econs paper 3 that afternoon was much better though. At least I finished the paper quite convincingly. Generally quite satisfied with that....
Then came the Human Geo paper on Thursday which I thought was a crapping paper especially the 10 marks DRQ paper. I was using only a small fraction of my backgound knowledge to answer those questions... Haha, what a joke! I hope I did the right thing though... Well at least I finished the paper...
The last day of the week was Econs paper 1 and 2. Goodness me, the MCQ was kinda tricky and so was the DRQ. What a joke, 8 marks for 2 questions and guess what? I only worte one paragraph for each.. Anyway, I was hoping for better luck for my Physics paper 1 and 2 on Monday (today). Well, as it turned out, I wasn't so lucky afterall. There were a couple of questions I didn't know how to do... Haiz.....
Well, there you go, a summary of the promos. The next few days would be our holidays.. But that again signals the start of many band practices to come. Don't know why, I seem to be losing interest in the band.. I remembered vividly that I was so passionate about band in sec school but it seems that this band is really making me lose my interest. I would admit though, that I still like my sec school band but definitely not this one. Well, sometimes you got to do things for the sake of doing things.. Never mind, just have to endure for another year.
LOST
Its strange really. I mean the show LOST. Why was John (bald head guy) upset with his so called 'father'? Seems wierd, both of them were in hospital one moment, and the next moment John was blaming his father for some misfortune. The island is the most perculiar of all. Were the group there for a reason? Or is this something to do with the paranormal? Haha... honestly, this show seems to only create more questions than answers. However, from what i can tell so far, the author is trying to show us the other side of life; the tough side of it, human resiliance i mean. That would thus explain why John has not given up trying to open that hatch in the ground. Others like Jack and Said have not given up trying to survive as well. They were there for a reason, and whatever that reason is, it still remains to be seen at this point of time. Never mind, we'll see as the last 4 episodes approaches.
Anyway, the promo exams are almost over for me. Haha, thankfully I still have Physics left on Monday. Not to worry though, can't really mug for paper one and two. More importantly, its the conceptual part which is crucial. So its 8 papers down and one to go. Yay...
Seems that this exam period has been like a dream for me. Its like watching a movie for 2 hours and being absorbed by the images and scenes in it. Once its over, it seems like I've just woken up and jumped back into reality. Haha, sounds kind of ironic but if you seriously think about it, it might just be true. Then the realisation dawns upon you that freedom is unlimited. You can enjoy all you want. But I wonder sometimes, is too much freedom a burden? Haha, that's if you can't find anything nice to indulge yourself in. I would like to play more soccer and badminton after promos but that does not mean I'll feel satisfied because I've always been used to the routine of mugging. Its as if this routine has suddenly been halted by this abundance of freedom. So I've really got to learn to be flexible and adjust accordingly to the different scenarios and circumstances that are to come. That's what i'm really trying to say...Well, maybe I just should learn to take things in my stride and not be too serious about life. There are countless opportunities out there. Opportunities are there for one's taking, it really depends on whether one knows how to grab that opportunity and make good use of it. So looks like its really time to play more soccer and badminton.... Haha....
