Some thoughts
Why contribute so much when all you get is nothing more than an average to poor report? Why spend so much time and effort on something that you know will not benefit you much? In the end, the one that suffers is you. No one else but yourself.
Why not invest more time and effort into something which will benefit you more? Something that will give more returns in future. Why waste your time on some fruitless activity that will get you nowhere but down into the dumps? In the end, those above you will get far better reports than you. Yours would be nothing more than a crap piece of paper than has absolutely no value whatsoever. You have to ask yourself, what are you doing? Slogging so hard and yet the end result is abysmal. It just makes you look back and say ‘maybe I should not have done so much when all I get is an extremely small piece of the cake’.
It’s just like being in a business. After years of hard work and loyalty to the company, one day the boss tells you that you are fired and gives you no reason for his course of action. Only then will you experience what it is like to be apart of something and get ostracized later. The big bosses only stand to benefit and you, holding the lowest but equally important position, get nothing out of it. Sounds ridiculous? It’s true though.
This world is a cruel and unjust world. Everything and everybody is judged based on their value to society. However, there are some organizations that are more cruel than society itself. These organizations are certainly the most notorious and have very substandard leadership. Anyone entering them would only be exposed to brutal and unfair treatment. Biasness is the word that sums it all up. The ‘chosen one’ has poor leadership qualities. Those under the ‘chosen one’ are like sheep without a shepherd. Even within the leadership, there are small uprisings; individuals trying to exert some sort of influence over the ‘others’ with limited success.
On the other hand, the boss of the ‘chosen one’ is nothing more than a puppet. Most of the time, the ‘chosen one’ is left to run the show without the close vigilance of the boss. All the boss does is talk and act in a pleasant way, concealing all his weaknesses to the best of his ability. However, the others are not blind to the eye. They can see through the boss and soon notice those flaws and weaknesses. Those in the good books of the boss would get ‘first class’ treatment whereas those not in his good books would get nothing more than unfair treatment. This is what I mean by plain biasness. Such would only do the organization more harm than good. That is why we should invest our time and effort in some organization that benefits you and not one where time and again, you get ostracized.
The worst part of the whole organization is the boss’s ‘leadership’ qualities. His ability is questioned by many. During crucial times, the boss does not exert his influence and display the sort of ‘innate ability’ that most of the ‘others’ thought he possessed. Instead, here comes another ‘hero’ who takes control and steers the ship in the right direction. Here we see a total power shift. The one assuming control is the ‘hero’ and is no longer the boss. Why isn’t the boss calling the shots? One might ask. Should not the boss have majority of the control? Why is the ‘hero’ the one doing all the ‘tidying’ up? That again goes to show poor or substandard leadership and ability on the part of the boss.
Moreover as a result of the above, the ‘others’ are incompetent. Some just treat it with a pinch of salt, as if it were not even part of them. I do not blame them for that. It’s a natural reaction to a ‘heavy dose of morphine’. Some on the other hand, seem to have taken a ‘lethal dose of anesthesia’. Others try to ‘reverse the side effects of the morphine and anesthesia’, but to no avail. Optimistic ones try to attract unnecessary attention in order to booze the organization and ‘relieve the agony and suffering of its patients’. Up to this point, it has proven to be of limited success. I applaud such a brave but fruitless move.
So you must ask yourself, why are you in this organization? What is the point of being in such an organization? What can you take away with you from it? These are difficult questions which only you can answer for yourself.
