The next step

Time flies isn't it? Before you can blink, the major tests are over already. Must say that it has been a wonderful journey even though times were tough and the going was rough. However, there is a lot that I learnt from this process of mugging in school and sometimes at home. The library and I-space were the two most popular havens for mugging for most people in school, myself included. Seeing students approach teachers for consultation everyday was a very common sight, something that has been ingrained into the Nanyang society for at least the past 6 months. Good thing, the teachers were willing to put up with students' queries and clarify their doubts even though the teachers themselves were on a tight schedule. I must commend them for their excellent attitude towards students and their willingness to go the extra mile. This I believe, would ultimately make the difference. That is also what makes this school so special, something one does not get in any other JC.

Overall, I thought that the exams were generally quite alright except for some minor portions here and there. Its no point talking about the paper when it's over. Whatever mistakes that have been made, are already made. All we can do now is pray hard and hope for the best. This whole exam also serves as a learning point in life; it's important to be well prepared, well equipped, flexible and calm. Exams are more than just pure regurgitation or applying concepts blindly. It is also about life skills, time management and personality (You'll be surprised!). Yes personality, but why? Let me explain.

Personality is about character. And character determines a person's future. Perserverance is character. A person with a short temper and has the 'never to say die' attitude would tend to do better than one who gives up easily. How true that is. Its simple logic. However, some people might argue that such qualities can be trained and nurtured. They are not wrong of course. With the right kind of training and nurturing, it is highly possible to achieve the same results as a genius. Just remember, very smart people take a shorter time to understand difficult concepts but the 'not so smart' take a longer time to do that. But bottom line is this; in the end, we all reach our final destination. That's the most important over and above everything else. So if you think you are not an 'A' student, then start hovering the belief that you'll be there one day because it is not impossible. In fact, it is well within your reach.

Exams are part and parcel of life. Take it or live with it. In the end, those who can find learning points in the most adverse of circumstances would emerge victorious.

Now that exams are over, the doors are wide open again. Times are uncertain and anything can happen. Only time will tell.

God bless.
